2019 Sierra Madre Vineyard Clone 828 Pinot Noir
Santa Maria Valley
The 2019 CRŪ Sierra Madre Clone 828 Pinot Noir is sourced solely from the Sierra Madre Vineyard. First planted in 1971, the vineyard is located in Northern Santa Barbara County, near the western edge of the Santa Maria Valley. The Sierra Madre Vineyard is recognized as one of California’s finest cool-climate vineyards and the coldest vineyard in the state leading to a long, drawn-out growing season.
Every few vintages a special clone will stand out to our winemaking team, and they will decide to bottle it on its own. The Clone 828 from the Sierra Madre Vineyard is one of those wines. This elegant wine opens with rich notes of raspberry and cranberry before leading into flavors of strawberry beautifully balanced with a hint of vanilla that carries through to the long, smooth finish.
This showstopper wine can pair with a variety of foods. We recommend pairing it Coq Au Vin or pasta in a vodka cream sauce.
